Suck It Up
Delish didn’t have any celebrity concepts in the beginning; but quickly learned how important a quick-paced talent-driven series was for the growth of its channel. In comes a sour candy game that incorporates ‘Never Have I Ever’. As the creator of the show, I worked with our design and animation team to give the series a punchy, youthful perspective. From the text popping up behind the talent as they say each word, to clever emoji-usage—and of course, the infamous slo-mo camera, this series has flair to make it memorable. We wanted the show to be unique to our brand and still pay homage to our home-grown talent, so we had our test kitchen develop the ‘world’s most sour candy’ that each talent is “terrified” to try.
